Need to Forgive?

04.28.2020

It's critical that we remember that we've been forgiven, and therefore should be quick to forgive others.

It's human nature to think more highly of ourselves than we should. When we go down that  path, we can become callous when it comes to forgiving others -- although we live in a constant state of forgiveness by God, and needing to be forgiven by others.

It's critical that we remember that we've been forgiven, and therefore should be quick to forgive others. And for some people reading this, it's critical that you forgive yourself, also.

Some folks will accept the forgiveness others have given them, yet beat themselves up for days on end. Not forgiving your spouse or not forgiving ourselves are both recipes for failure in marriage.

To make your marriage work, forgive your spouse - and yourself. Do it because God, in Christ, forgave you. That's the real reason for forgiveness, anyway.
